BIP - March in Madeira

Last week, on 3. - 7. 3. 2025, our colleagues Mgr. František Olšavský, PhD. and Mgr. Martin Krajčík, PhD. and six amazing students from Faculty of Management Comenius University Bratislava – Laura Čierna, Michaela Chlebničanová, Annamária Lašová, Filip Mihálik, Diana Pavlovičová and Viktória Dominika Tóbiová attended a BIP (Blended Intensive Programme) at ISAL in Madeira, Portugal called GENESIS: Global Entrepreneurs Network and Education for Strategy and Innovative Solutions.

In this BIP program participated 3 institutions - ISAL, as a hosting institution, University of Gdansk and Comenius University Bratislava as participating institutions. Nine students from University of Gdansk and six students from Comenius University Bratislava were divided into 4 mixed groups having 6 online lectures with 6 lecturers during January and February.
Students were practicing their entrepreneurial skills and developing startup ideas. They had to consider what business idea they are going to develop, what financial sources they’d have and use, what marketing strategy they’d use and much more.
The GENESIS final week was happening on beautiful island of Madeira.

Both students and lecturers had the opportunity to meet in person, discuss their ideas and connect during, but also even after the lectures. Students were also preparing their ideas for the final presentation in front of not only lecturers, but also in front of businessmen and businesswomen, and Micaela Vieira, the leader of Startup Madeira, an organization that helps startups based and active on Madeira.

The whole week was full of inspiring discussions, great ideas and new friendships and connections. Even after the official programme ended.

Our colleagues, dr. Olšavský and dr. Krajčík, also managed to setup new agreement between our Comenius University Bratislava and University of Gdansk, Poland. During their stay they visited the partner University of Madeira and arranged a stay for our colleagues this semester.
