Education is undoubtedly the most effective variable to incorporate positive changes around the world and induce economic growth. Quality assurance demand in higher education institutions is increasing, with the enrollment rates growing. For countries to maintain quality is often challenging due to its complexity and several factors affecting it. This research focuses on the progress achieved in the Slovak Republic and Albania toward accomplishing quality assurance in education as a factor in economic development. This work focuses on the academic staff's self-confidence, quality assurance, and economic development as a positive correlation. Through the evaluation of survey participants, the first part of the correlation proves to be positive and supports the statement that selfconfidence of the academic staff positively affects classroom teaching while the two other claims are rejected. Our ultimate goal is to contribute with findings on quality assurance importance in higher education and serve as a future guideline with its findings and comparison between the two case studies.
